The sun is shining, temperatures are climbing, and summer 2026 is officially underway. For fleets hauling temperature-sensitive cargo across Canada, this season brings longer days, busier routes, and one critical challenge: heat.
At Pro Reefer, we know that when the mercury rises, your reefers work harder than ever to maintain precise temperatures. A single failure can mean spoiled loads, costly downtime, and unhappy customers. That’s why proactive maintenance isn’t just smart — it’s essential.
Why Summer Demands Top-Tier Reefer Care
-
- Higher Ambient Temperatures push refrigeration units to their limits, increasing wear on compressors, condensers, and electrical systems.
-
- Longer Hauls & Tighter Schedules mean less time for routine checks between runs.
-
- Peak Season Demand for fresh produce, pharmaceuticals, frozen goods, and more puts extra pressure on your fleet reliability.
-
- Unexpected Heat Spikes can quickly turn minor issues into major breakdowns if not caught early.
